What is the difference between AFFF and AFFF/AR?

As firefighting foam liquid, both have the characteristics of strong defoaming power, physiological inertness, heat resistance, oxygen resistance, corrosion resistance, gas solubility, breathability, easy diffusion, easy penetration, insoluble in the defoaming system and no physical and chemical effects, low dosage of firefighting foam liquid, high efficiency, etc. The process of “foam suppression” and “foam breaking” is as follows: when the system is added to the fire fighting foam, its molecules are widely spread on the surface of the liquid in a disorderly manner, which inhibits the formation of the elastic film, that is, to terminate the production of foam. When the system generates a large amount of foam, add firefighting foam liquid, its molecules immediately spread on the surface of the foam, quickly spread, forming a very thin double film layer, further diffusion, penetration, laminar invasion, thus replacing the original thin wall of the bubble film. So what’s the difference between and? Follow me below to see.

Water film-forming foam extinguishing agent (AFFF) 3/6% (also known as light water foam) is formulated from hydrocarbon surfactants, fluorocarbon surfactants, co-solvents, stabilizers, antifreeze agents, preservatives, etc. with water, and can form a layer of water film foam extinguishing agent on the surface of certain hydrocarbon liquids. It is an efficient foam fire extinguishing agent, with its characteristic double action, high fire extinguishing efficiency and speed, good anti-combustion performance and sealing performance, strong anti-pollution, and long storage period. It is suitable for extinguishing fires caused by water-soluble liquid fuels.

The shelf life of aqueous film-forming foam liquid is eight years. It can be mixed with water in the ratio of 3:97 or 6:94 and can be foamed in various low-frequency foam generating equipment to fight oil fires. It can also be used in combination with a dry powder extinguishing agent to put out fires and can be used to put out large oil storage tank fires by underarm spraying. It is widely used in oil fields, oil refineries, oil depots, ships, docks, airports, and other key fire prevention places.

The shelf life of AFFF/AR is two years. 3/6% can be mixed with water in the ratio of 3:97 or 6:94, which can be used to foam in various kinds of low-power foam generating equipment, and the foam generated can be applied to the surface of alcohols or other polar solvents to resist their destructive foam, also called anti-alcohol foam liquid. It can quickly put out the fire of alcohols, esters, ethers, ketones, aldehydes, and other polar solvents, and can also quickly put out various oil fires. It is widely used to put out various types of B fires, and its general fire extinguishing performance can put out fires of unknown or mixed oil and polar solvent B fuels, and fires of unleaded motor gasoline. It is suitable for fighting large tank fires by “under-liquid spraying” and can be used in combination with dry powder extinguishing agents, and can be applied together with most of the fire fighting foam extinguishing agents in the fire fighting process. It is widely used in chemical plants, chemical fiber factories, solvent factories, oil fields, oil depots, and other key fire prevention places.
